One giant conversation. I don’t find that aspect to compelling other than it can be oddly entertaining. I like the fact that I can have a place where I can communicate from all my devices (including mobile via SMS) w/ groups of friends. I can’t do that any other way now – that is a pain (I don’t have and don’t want email on my phone and email on the phone does not have anywhere near the penetration as SMS). I can use the command set to hush users and that solves another pain for me – ie, I like to be left alone at times. I can also just let the family get to me and solve yet another pain – yep, they could call, but it sure is nice to get a note from Emma saying she “loves poppy”. And the extra special bonus is the API (and very active user base)... throw in some additional microformats/commands (location for example) and you can do some cool things.
